Killing the Elephant in the Room: How the 'Myth Busting' Format Increases Conversions

Every product has purchase barriers. Instead of ignoring them, the best strategy is to put them center frame and dismantle them one by one, directly on camera.

Your Client's Fears Don't Disappear: They Show Up as Non-Purchases

Every product and service has purchase barriers. Your clients are full of concerns, questions, and stigmas before they pull out their credit card. Most businesses choose to ignore this and only show the good side in their videos.

The problem: the potential client stops exactly because of the things you didn't say.

The best strategy is to put the objections center frame, and dismantle them one by one.

The 'Myth Busting' Format in Action

In the project we created for "Regev Gutman", an institution that helps students pass certification exams in economics, accounting, and real estate appraisal, we chose not to make a regular brand film.

Instead of showing pretty platform interfaces and happy students, we sat both founders in front of the camera and asked them directly: what are the biggest fears students bring to you?

"Is it just a Zoom class?" Answered. "Is the material updated for this year's exam?" Answered. "Does it work for CPA board exams?" Answered.

Every answer is a purchase objection that gets opened up and resolved.

Why Two Presenters Works Better Than One "Talking Head"

The format of two founders side by side produces two outcomes:

Natural dynamics: When there are two in frame, they talk to each other, not "at" the camera. This reduces the feeling of an advertising speech and increases the feeling of an authentic conversation.

Double authority: Two founders sitting together signal organizational stability. This is critical when selling an educational product that requires the client to invest time and money. They need to know the people behind the product aren't going anywhere.

The Formula: Honesty + Precision + Minimum Distractions

Notice what's not in this film: no excessive B-roll, no distracting graphics, no music trying to move you emotionally. The background is slightly dark, the lighting is soft and even on the faces.

This isn't laziness. It's a choice.

When the goal is objection handling, every additional element you add weakens the message. The client needs to hear and believe. Not be impressed.

The burned-in subtitles are the only graphic element added, because they help viewing without sound on social media, and highlight the key points of each answer.

When the Best Marketing Is the Most Honest Conversation

A "myth busting" video works because of a paradox: the more you talk about your client's fears, the more they trust you. Because they feel you understand them, not selling to them.

The message to clients: if you have a product that people hesitate to buy due to specific known barriers, this is the format that will dismantle them.
